Medcare Urgent Appeal

Thank you to everyone who helped us raise an incredible £4,000 which provided food, bedding and mosquito nets for 24 families, a total of 144 children and adults, with additional food given to a number of other needy families. Many thanks to our amazing supporters for joining with Medcare to be a lifeline for Ugandan children.

In July, a small team of Medcare volunteers travelled to work with the children served by the Wellspring Children’s Medical Centre in Uganda. Over the past 2 years, as a result of the strict Ugandan COVID lockdown, the worldwide consequences of the war in Ukraine and a severe drought, poverty has greatly increased in the villages surrounding Wellspring. Malnutrition and starvation have become commonplace, particularly amongst the children, and the lives of children suffering from serious illnesses or disabilities are greatly at risk. 

The team visited as many of the neediest families as they could possible during their time in Uganda. Each family was provided with food, bedding, mosquito nets, clothing and small gifts.
